This bright and cheery Haori dates back to the 1940s and features a striking abstract pattern of cream, mustard and blue on crimson Meisen silk.
Use it at home to swan around in on a Sunday morning...wear it by the pool as you sip on your cocktail...or wear it out as a stylish other-worldly fashion option, belted and paired with anything from jeans to a pencil skirt.
CONDITION: Excellent. It has one or two small stains on the outside of the garment (as shown), however these are tiny and do not detract from the beauty of the garment and may come out if soaked. The hand-painted silk lining, flecked with silver and gold, is also in mint condition.

We have long championed the use of the hoari or short kimono at Ginny & Jude as a casual accompaniment to jeans and skirts. In particular we are very fond of the Meisen silk textiles that gained popularity in Japan from 1920 to 1950. Its woven patterns are said to be influenced by Western textiles and are more adventurous and innovative in pattern and colour.
